All those who love art will appreciate the Bolshoi Opera and Ballet Theater, which is the most important scene of the country, located in the Trinity Suburb. The Theater was based on the State Studio of Opera and Ballet which had been working in the 1930s. State studio of opera and ballet. The new theater was opened in 1933 by the performance of the opera Carmen.

However, until 1938, the Bolshoi Theater did not have its premises. Only by 1938 a building in the style of Soviet constructivism had been finished. The theater’s first years of work were marked by such famous operas as "Eugene Onegin", "The Queen of Spades", "Prince Igor" and others performed on its stage. In addition, national pieces of opera and ballet were given for the first time right in this theater. During World War II the building was significantly damaged and its auditorium was destroyed.

The occupants devastated the contents and decor of the room, and the building itself was used as a barn. Only after the liberation of Minsk in 1948 was it possible to complete the reconstruction of the building. The repertoire of the theater continued to be replenished by both classical Russians and national works. During the era of the USSR, the Bolshoi Opera and Ballet Theater was famous for its openness in a creative search. The theater troupe often toured the Soviet cities, regularly performing on the stage of the Bolshoi Theater in Moscow, the most prestigious stage of the time. To this day the theater troupe continues to conquer the scenes of other cities and countries, so from 1995 to 2010 the team has already visited at least 30 countries. Talented and honored artists of the theater will definitely appeal to all those who love opera and ballet art.
